Upon your request for the trip you’re interested in, the tour brochure will be emailed to your nominated email address or posted to you upon request.

The travel documents such us updated travel advices and full tour itinerary including confirmed hotels, daily tour start and end time, airport transfer details are delivered to your nomintated email address or post upon request 56 days prior to your travel date. If you book within 56 days of departure for the trip, the travel documents are delivered to your nominated email address within 2 business days after we accept your full payment.

Physical ratings

The physical rating gives you an idea of how much physical exertion is required on a particular trip. The majority of our itineraries are designed for people with an average level of fitness, but there are a few specialist tours (like trekking) that require a bit of training beforehand.

1 out of 5 = these trips are a relaxing break. You don’t have to worry about doing anything physically demanding unless you want to.

2 out of 5 = Some easy physical activities included in your trip. No physical preparation is required to make the most of the journey.

3 out of 5 = This trip will raise your heartbeat. Moderate physical activities are included and a good level of fitness is required.

4 out of 5 = Be prepared for some serious physical activity. The fitter you are, the more you’ll enjoy it, as most activities will be challenging.

5 out of 5 = Our highest physical rating. Get ready for a heart-pumping adventure with plenty of challenges and some extreme conditions. You’ll be required to be seriously fit for this trip as difficult activities are included.

Travel insurance is recommended for all travellers.

At a minimum, your travel insurance should be ‘comprehensive’, providing cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability. We also strongly recommend it covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

The safety of our travellers is a major priority for EMH. With this in mind, we monitor world events very closely and EMH makes operational decisions based on informed advice from a number of sources, in particular the level of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) travel advisory. If this advisory is at Level 4 ‘Do Not Travel’ then EMH will either cancel the trip or reroute the itinerary to avoid the areas concerned.

Availability of refrigeration cannot be guaranteed. As a general rule, all of our city hotels provide access to small fridges; however, outside of this, especially when trekking or in homestay environments, you cannot rely on access to refrigeration. Please be sure to advise EMH if you are travelling with medication that requires refrigeration.

Our tour guides are trained to deal with these situations and we will endeavour to get you help as quickly as possible. If you must leave the trip early due to illness, our local office will help you find appropriate medical care and ensure someone at home is aware of the situation. We will do whatever we can to get you home or on your onward journey. Your travel insurance should cover any costs incurred if illness occurs.
