WHAT TO EXPECT ~

Enjoy a day of discoveries and cultural immersion with this day trip of Kakku Pagoda, a complex recently opened to the public.

Begin the tour with a pick up at your hotel in Nyaung Shwe City, then enjoy a scenic drive through the scenic winding roads on your way to Kakku Pagoda, where you’ll surely marvel at the beauty of the lush mountain range! Explore the religious site with your English-speaking guide, who will tell you all about its Buddhist history as you admire the sight of the 2,500 unique Shan-style stupas.

Enjoy a quick lunch, at your own expense, before you head off to Taunggyi Central Market. Here you can enjoy local products at awesome prices, including delicious Shan noodles, as well as fresh produce and Burmese sweet tea from the Shan hills. Visit the Ananda Temple and check out the gilded sikhara, the tower-like spire on top, and take in the magnificent view of the surrounding mountain range! Finally, drive back to your hotel in Nyaung Shwe.

  • Ladies are required to cover up to enter the temples. Please wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt or bring something to wrap around you.
